Daisy in the Desert
When I got to Cape Town, I collected my 'new' car, a battered old Golf. New friends and I planned to go exploring, using it to go north to Namaqualand, where the desert blooms spectacularly at that time of year.
I mentioned that we were going to see daisies in the desert to Simon, who immediately wanted to know who Daisy was, and what she was doing in the desert.
I then found out that, by a strange coincidence, a previous QPSW worker and user of the car (Abi) used to call her Daisy. So now I know who Daisy is!
this was my first chance to get a sense of the South African landscapes, and do some exploring
I was completely enchanted with the unfamiliar plants and textures
these would become a huge element of my next two years
We found a nice place to stop for the night, got our tent out, and realised we'd left the tent poles behind.
Daisy to the rescue!
I do not have access to these orignal images to upscale them right now,
but keeping these as a reminder to look for them later.
