I'd been in touch with the Alternatives to Violence Project team in Kenya since 2004.

It was exciting to help facilitate my first workshop in Nairobi this December.

 

 

One major topic were the coming elections, to be held a week after the workshop.

In the event, the elections were peaceful, but what followed was not.

We ran a large programme of workshops in some of the worst affected areas, over the course of 2008, and brought skilled facilitators from Rwanda to seed a deeper process of reconciliation and healing.
