A day in Nairobi
I loved taking visitors around Johannesburg - which most people pass through as quickly as possible.
Having my cousin's friend Siobhan in town was a good excuse to start exploring Nairobi.
(Somewhat unusually, I left my own camera behind, so these are her pictures.)

Karen Blixen's house was an expensive disappointment, with few labels or signs giving historical context.
The Langata Giraffe Centre nearby was far more interesting.

The Kazuri project employs single mothers in making pottery and beads.

At the new Safari Walk at Nairobi National Park just before it closed, we had a very hands on experience!

The next day we rattled through the dust (road repairs) to Nakuru, where we had a really lucky sighting...
